    Summary of Position

    The restaurant expeditor ensures quality and proper presentation of food in a timely manner; that food orders are prepared and assembled quickly according to recipes and procedures to avoid waste; and that the line is always stocked, neat, clean and safe.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    • Read tickets and prepare, to order, all food items following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits. Prepare plate presentations, correctly set up according to tickets.
    • Measure and assemble ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.
    • Once order is complete according to ticket, take order to customers in a timely manner.
    • Maintain area in a clean, sanitary and safe manner with personal health and sanitation standards in mind.
    • Stock/restock items according to specifications.
    • Assist FOH and BOH when needed.
    • Communicate with kitchen staff recook/cookups, ticket needs and times.
    • Ensure food is expedited and delivered to tables in the same order it is rang up.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    Work Environment

    This job entails frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity and extreme cold.

     

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and stand. The employee is frequently required to reach, bend, stoop, shake, stir, pour, carry, push and lift objects up to 50 pounds. There is substantial repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and fingers.

    This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.

    Requirements

    Experience and Education

     

    Required

    • High school diploma or GED.

     

    Preferred

    • Prior experience working in a restaurant.
