Exploration Director directs and develops an organization's oil and gas exploration projects. Analyzes and evaluates the opportunities, risk and profits for oil and gas deposits exploration. Being an Exploration Director initiates exploration plans based on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Directs geological and geophysical programs and may have oversight for land acquisition and leasing activities. Additionally, Exploration Director requires a bachelor's degree. Primary Function: Under the direction of and in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer, and in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point, the Area Director will support the growth and sustainability of BGCGHP Programs. The position will initiate, facilitate, and maintain strategies aligned with the organization’s programs with a strong focus on the Project Learn component. You will provide guidance and support to help improve academic outcomes in Club youth.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
· Provide tracking of desired outcomes for education grants and other outcomes assigned by the CEO.
· Ensure effective training and management of tools, programs, and resources that strengthen educational programming (i.e., A3000; Smarty Ants; ALEKS) and healthy lifestyles.
· Work with the Vice President of Administration to manage financial expenditures and recommending purchasing of resources for the Education budget.
· Lead assigned cohort team meetings and attend other meetings as required.
· Responsible for oversight of all aspects of the education program including good character and citizen programs for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point. Ensure seasonal intramural sports leagues are managed by Unit Directors at assigned Clubs.
· Establish and maintain program objectives and goals that are consistent with organizational goals and mission. Evaluate programs on a continual basis to ensure programs/activities respond to member needs and address their diversity and demonstrate high quality via outcome assessments.
· Maintaining the safety of children is a first priority. Emphasizes personal safety and emotional wellbeing with children, parents, and other program staff at all times.
Supervision
· Oversee assigned Club Unit Director/Program Director(s). Fill in when there is a staff shortage at your assigned cohort Club sites, as directed by the CEO. Ensure that CACFP and SFSP Food Programs are effectively managed at each respective site.
· Oversee education curriculum development and implementation of the Project Learn program.
· Oversee proper record-keeping procedures as required for timely reporting.
· Provide ongoing feedback and regular appraisal to program staff and volunteers, ensuring adherence to Club policies.
· Address all Club level complaint escalations when needed; follow chain of command.
· Ensure Physical Education Leaders are conducting quarterly programs.
Leadership and Continuous Improvement
· Model the values of BGCGHP and work to find solutions for challenges through collective thinking and teamwork.
· Demonstrate progress on leadership competencies related to mission and community, people, results and personal development for self and staff.
· Assist in supporting the CEO, by facilitating meetings and creating program frameworks.
· Offer recommendations and advise the CEO to enhance programs.
· Implement program standards, for example, ensure the delivery of best practices as applicable to their specified component and other standards related to funding requirements.
· Provide support and program framework for Club staff that foster fun, engaging, and quality programs.
· Participate in on-going training to foster personal and professional growth and development.
· Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close contact with club staff (professional and volunteer) and Administrative Office Staff to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain, or interpret guidelines/instructions, instruct, and advise/counsel.
External: Builds relationships and maintains contact as needed with external community groups, agencies, schools, United Way, board members, and others to network, collaborate and/or assist in resolving problems.
