Extrusion Operator sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. The Extrusion Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. POSITION SUMMARY: Operate stacker machinery. Stack boards into quality units. Keep up with the flow of lumber from sorter to prevent down time.
· Be a team player.
· Ensure the highest possible quality when stacking units.
· Work with Hyster drivers when there are problems with units on the outfeed.
· Learn and recognize problems with quality of lumber. (Ex. Lumber stamp quality, marks on lumber that are caused by machine. Saw marks and periodically check size and length of lumber).
· Pull out wood that does not belong in units.
· Assist millwrights when stacker is broken down.
· Keep stacker area clean.
· Verbally report any unusual conditions to supervisor.
· Perform routine corrective maintenance.
· Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
· Must be self-motivated and able to perform assigned duties with little supervision.
· Good verbal communication skills.
· Good analysis / problem solving skills.
· Must be willing to attend grade classes to acquire grade knowledge.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This position works in a loud inside environment. This position will regularly be working near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
