Extrusion Operator, Sr. sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator, Sr. adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator, Sr. may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Extrusion Operator, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Responsibilities
- Required to set up and run plastic and rubber molding machines, mixer, and pulverizers
- Operator must be able to visually inspect for color and imperfections and make changes as required.
- Must be able to perform preventive maintenance tasks.
- Operators will work on an elevated demolding platform requiring good balance and a non-apprehension towards height.
- Operators will mix resin and cut rubber requiring accurate measurement of pounds and grams.
- Uses a variety of hand tools such as pneumatic wrenches and small trimming tools.
- Must be safety conscious and be familiar with safety precautions for handling different chemicals.
- Works from supervisor's written or verbal instructions.
- Must understand all labor reporting methods and how to use the computer.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 80 pounds.
- Handle potential hot and humid conditions.
- Regular standing, walking, climbing, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting
