Extrusion Operator, Sr. sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator, Sr. adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator, Sr. may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Extrusion Operator, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     • Willing and able to work in a variety of areas (assembly, plant, warehouse)
    • Willing and able to stand and or sit for extended periods 
    • Willing and able to lift up to 60 lbs. and complete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting
    • Willingness and ability to work shift work (days/nights) overtime hours including weekend work when needed The following are preferred:
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized Work are a plus
    • Knowledge of plastic extrusion processes and plant operations desired
    • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills and teamwork skills 

    Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Conditioning activities such as sizing, gravity operation, bagging, palletizing
    • Return and rework activities
    • Warehousing activities including forklift operation, collecting samples, spooling, etc. 
    • Gathering data for continuous improvement projects
    • Various other duties as assigned by the supervisor
