Extrusion Press Operators are responsible for the operation of extrusion press and necessary supporting equipment used in industry to produce metal strip and wire. This includes, but not limited to, setting up extrusion modes and dies to meet internal and customer specification of product. You will work as part of a team, collaborating with other operators and skilled workers.

Essential Job Duties:
- Operate and monitor Extrusion Press and components to ensure they are working properly, adjusting as needed to keep it operating safely and efficiently.
- Set up and monitor preheating furnace/billet heater temperatures for variations.
- Keep materials marked and segregated to ensure there is no cross contamination of the alloys.
- Maintain extrusion die conditions and inventory.
- Inspect stems and dies to make sure they are free of defects.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and operating saws.
- Operate cranes and forklifts to move raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain work orders on both production router and/or in ERP systems to accurately record data and track material used through the production process.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.
- Support a safety culture by following all safety rules.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Proactively cooperate in shop floor fine scheduling of Extrusion Press.
- Provide Preventive Maintenance of Extrusion Press equipment and corresponding tooling to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Support ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (EH&S) Management System Processes.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED Required.
- Experience in heavy machine operation within a manufacturing environment, preferably within an extrusion process operation.
- Excellent mechanical and logical thinking, able to do simple maintenance and repairs.
- Attention to detail; Ability to read and record data accurately as required.
- Organized, self-structured, self-driven.
- Practical approach, straightforward and communicative.
- Ability to work independently, as well as a team.
Physical Requirements/Safety:
- Ability to work with high temperature equipment and products.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
