Extrusion Operator, Sr. sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator, Sr. adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator, Sr. may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Extrusion Operator, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Location: North Liberty, INSummary:This position accomplishes the organizational objectives by safely manufacturing, packaging, and shipping high quality products to our customers on time.
Job Responsibilities:- Place safety first.
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Lifts and stacks product.
- Maintains efficiency standards set for assigned area.
- Maintains good housekeeping of work areas.
- Accurately record numbers or lengths of units handled or moved.
Job Requirements:- Prior experience operating mobile equipment including a forklift or Combi is helpful, but not required.
- Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply).
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
Education and Work Requirements:- Manufacturing Experience desirable; the ability to train on day shift for approximately 1 month and then work on overnight shift.
- Ability to communicate effectively, with fluency in English preferred.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work long hours as needed in seasonal temperatures.
