DFI is a manufacturer of thermoformed disposable plastic packaging, primarily for the food industry. We are seeking a full-time Extruder Operator. This is a direct hire position for the DFI-SC Extrusion Department (no staffing agencies involved).
Job Description
Working under highly experienced supervisory personnel, the Extruder Operator is responsible for properly measuring the input blend – resin, colorants and additives, and must constantly monitor the output to make sure it meets the required specification. The Extruder Operator is responsible for keeping our OPS production lines running within all standard efficiency and quality operating parameters. The Extruder operator will work with a computer that reports information in real time and will be responsible to troubleshoot issues with the production line if they arise.
Requirements
You must have a strong work ethic and references that will confirm this, and speak English fluently.
Three years experience in a similar manufacturing position is required. Any further technical education is a plus.
Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude, good command of basic mathematics and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to use basic quality testing equipment and all forms of machine controls from manual dials, pushbuttons, meters, etc., to computerized machine interface touch screens, etc.
