Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The role you’ll contribute:

    To plan, coordinate, and manage the activities of Plant Operations Maintenance, Emergency Management, Safety and Security, and Construction. Position serves as Safety Officer for the facility and Chairs the Safety Committee.

    • Manages department team, under his/her supervision, including hiring, firing, orientation, training and evaluation within established guidelines.
    • Maintains a department staffing plan that meets organizational needs.
    • Coordinates the departmental performance improvement process including the preparation, analysis, and submission of required reports.
    • Establishes standards, provides training and enforces compliance of patient experience service program.
    • Oversees the day to day operations of respective department, to provide consistent quality service to internal and external customers.
    • Manages the Hospital's emergency preparedness program in coordination with both internal and external resources in order to optimize preparedness.
    • Conducts emergency exercises to establish levels of readiness and coordinate between inpatient, outpatient and community resources
    • Provides annual updated Emergency Operations plans for approval by governing agencies.
    • Reacts effectively to unplanned circumstances, demands, and challenges facing the department.

    Completes other duties as assigned and proactively anticipates the needs of other team members.

    :

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Must have knowledge of TJC and state regulations.
    • Understanding of Joint Commission Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree Engineering or Business Administration/Management
    • 3 years in leadership experience
    • 3 years hospital or healthcare experience in facilities/biomed

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Healthcare
    • Certification in Facilities Management
