Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB FUNCTIONS
The Leader assumes responsibility for care of patients as they move through the areas of responsibility and into the home or other level of care in the community.
Provides leadership and support to nurse manager(s) using creative leadership to ensure best outcomes in high quality compassionate patient care.
The Director works with medical staff and other health care professionals collaboratively.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years recent experience in related field with at least 3 years strong management experience at the Director or Manager Level.
LICENSURE & CERTIFICATIONS
Licensure in the state of placement will be required. Candidates with Compact Licensure are preferred, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states as needed.
