Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. You Will be Responsible For:
- Supervise daily maintenance activities in production, critical utilities, and facility areas.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of up to 35 people
- Drive projects aligned with business objectives and contribute to equipment purchasing decisions
- Research, assess, and provide input on capital projects and new technology installations.
- Oversee site energy management programs and ensure effective equipment maintenance and documentation
- Initiate and guide lean manufacturing activities, tracking key performance indicators for continual improvement
You will bring the following
- Strong Facilities and Operations experience in a GMP Pharmaceutical/Medical Device/Biotech/Biologics/Food Manufacturing environment
- Experience with Critical Facilities e.g. steam generators and compressors
- Minimum of Bachelors in Engineering
- Strong team and people management experience
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
