Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Description
    Develops and implements capital improvement projects, such as construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance of buildings and facilities, including preliminary concept development, detailed engineering design, and bidding. Designs, plans, installs, and/or maintains mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, architecture and other infrastructure systems. Analyzes current operating conditions and recommends new preventative and proactive methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems and/or infrastructure. Evaluates facility standards and practices to improve maintenance procedures and ensure optimal operational efficiency. Conducts preliminary surveys and prepares schematics and work drawings for the construction and maintenance of current, new, or remodeled structures and facilities. Complies with organizational and governmental safety standards. Participates in the planning and installation of new facility systems. May work with multiple components including HVAC systems, air or liquid cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, power distribution units, fire systems, life safety systems, etc.?
    Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; orMaster's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; orSRE qualified.

    Pay Range
    $75,300 - $115,300 annually
