Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Facilities Mechanic I will perform routine repair, modification and preventive maintenance tasks on buildings facilities, equipment, fixtures and systems. Assignments are varied and are received in the form of oral or written work orders. Work is performed independently or in teams. Responsibilities include determining appropriate work methods, tools, and materials for most assignments.

     

    It is the responsibility of all employees to uphold the mission of the Amy’s Food Safety and Quality Policy. This includes following all Food Safety and Sustainability programs and participating in all required training.

     

    Shift:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    General building and grounds maintenance including but not limited to:

    · Performs interior and exterior painting and repairs including patching

    · Makes routine electrical, plumbing and drain repairs

    · Performs basic carpentry utilizing various hand and power tools

    · Runs errands to deliver and pick up parts and outside equipment repairs

    · Replaces lamps, lights and ballast

    · Installs and disassembles Warehouse pallet racking and stringers

    · Repairs and replaces strip curtains

    · Performs basic roof repairs and maintenance

    · Performs basic preventative maintenance on air handlers, swamp coolers and HVAC units

    · Monitors and maintains waste handling system

    · Monitors plant systems such as compressed air, water, and steam

    · Operates forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks, scissor and boom lifts

    · Assembles and installs tables, cabinets, desks, shelves, office furniture

    · Tears down and rebuilds partitions

    · Moves office equipment, furniture and supplies

    · Cleans equipment and work areas

    · Services restroom fixtures and plumbing

    · Repairs and services doors, closures, locks, tamper alarms, windows and skylights,

    · Routinely inspects grounds and facilities for service or repair work

    · Performs basic floor repairs

    · Follows lockout/tagout safety procedures during service and repair.

    · Uses personal protective equipment as required.

    · Complies with the rules and regulations set forth in Amy's Kitchen Inc. employee handbook, safety manual and the GMP booklet.

    · Based on company needs, overtime is required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    · High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    · Plumbing experience and knowledge preferred.

    · Basic electrical experience a plus.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    o Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as add, subtract, divide, multiply, figure proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    o Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

    o Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
