Ensures that established efficiency and safety targets are met. Additionally, Facilities Engineer typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.     Job Skills / Requirements

    Regional Grounds Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently directing the grounds teams and managers in their region to produce quality landscape service that meets or exceeds the standards of clients and management while repairing and maintaining all equipment. Up to 75% of travel time required.

    Essential Functions:

     

    - Direct, manage, discipline, and train grounds managers and workers

    - Utilize computer software and CMMS system

    - Travel between multiple locations as needed

    - Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks

    - Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions

    - Self-starting individual who follows directions, adheres to a work schedule, and can focus on details

    - Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients and vendors.

    - Development and implementation of cyclic work projects/tasks on multiple campuses

    - Maintain daily communication log

    - Follow all local, state and federal regulatory rules, laws, best practices

    - Perform and promote safety in all work practices

     

     

    Leading a region of Managers and Groundskeepers that typically perform a variety of tasks which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler installation and repair.

    Physical and Working Conditions:

     

    - Work will be performed in and around chemical odors/fumes

    - Work will be performed in outside weather conditions throughout the year

    - Leverage 80 lbs. of a walk behind mower over curbs

    - Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    - Push, pull, grip and squeeze various tools, products and/or items (e.g., pruning)

    - Walk up to 10 miles per day, sometimes uphill and on uneven terrain, often with equipment

    - Bend and kneel up to 9 hours or more a day

    - Spray various pesticides/herbicides

    - Use hand tools

    - High Noise levels (e.g., outdoor conditions, backpack blowers, lawn mowers, weed wackers)

     

    Job Description: Work/Perform, Supervise, Direct, and Train in the following tasks and processes:

     

    - Mentor and supervise Grounds Managers at multiple locations.

    - Securely store all equipment, vehicles, tractors and tools.

    - Mow turf using various mowers, line trimming and edging equipment.

    - Sweeping and blowing leaves and clippings.

    - Prune shrubs and trees and clear debris, pull weeds.

    - Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters and pruning saws, etc.

    - Shovel snow and ice, remove snow and ice from driveways and parking lots and spread salt in those areas.

    - Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, removing thatch, trimming, edging, prune and trim trees, shrubs and hedges using a variety hand and power tools.

    - Seeding, including the preparation and application of erosion control blanket, application of fertilizer, herbicide, pesticide, fungicide; aquatic applications, raking, watering of trees, shrubs, plants, flowers, bulbs, seeds and sod; grooming; dividing plants.

    - Mixing and spraying or spreading fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.

    - Provide proper upkeep of all hardscapes.

    - Cultivating beds; mulch application; bed preparation using soil amendments; core aeration, pruning, planting, removal or replacement of shrubs, plants, and flowers; pruning of trees and replacement of trees.

    - Perform Preventive Maintenance and repairs on grounds vehicles, and equipment.

    - Wash and care for grounds equipment, tools, and vehicles.

    - Maintain and repair structures such as, but not limited to, fences, benches, and minor out buildings.

    - Other duties as assigned

     

    Snow removal: Must be available nights, weekends and holidays.

     

    Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

    - A list of current certifications is required.

    - Education: Bachelors Degree or Diploma with at least five years experience preferred.

    - Experience: 3 Years of automotive/small engine repair experience, landscaping, athletic field maintenance helpful.

    - Must be able to operate various lawn care machinery including mowers, edgers, backpack blowers

    - Must be able to meet and sustain a valid driver’s license and insurance

    - Employment is contingent on successful / satisfactory completion of a background check.

    - Ability to communicate in English and Spanish beneficial.
