Estimates costs related to layout design, including equipment and materials, labor, etc. and monitors the construction process. Being a Facilities Engineer researches production/processing equipment or fixtures for purchase and gathers data relating to their ability to meet organizational needs. Ensures that established efficiency and safety targets are met. Additionally, Facilities Engineer typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Be responsible for regular analysis of mechanical systems to include cooling balancing and air quality to help ensure the integrity of the entire mechanical system Duties and Responsibilities You should also be able to demonstrate the following competencies: • Produce and maintain key mechanical deliverable documents/reports, calculations and schedules to programmes with appropriate quality • Carry out mechanical feasibility studies • Liaise and coordinate with other design disciplines and plant engineering as necessary in the production of preliminary and detail design deliverables • Support the design team in meetings and reviews • Design robust mechanical systems to enable the client to tender and produce working drawings and calculations to ensure that the site installation meets the needs of the client • Ensure compliance with engineering based regulatory requirements in their area • Provide the right technical requirements from project definition briefs • The ability to work with minimal supervision, work effectively in a team and to meet deadlines • Excellent written and spoken English & effective communication skills • Professional attitude and a ‘can do’ approach to problem solving • To be successful in this role, you will need to be an excellent communicator who can articulate complicated issues between our clients and our highly skilled project teams. You will also need to show ambition and a willingness to learn whilst demonstrating a high-level of diligence and organisational skills.• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local and national guidelines, codes and regulations • Ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner • Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs • Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or related subjects, Chartered or Incorporated member (or working towards Chartership) of IMechE or equivalent.Qualifications • HNC / Degree (Mechanical) • Incorporated / Chartered status via the Engineering Council • However experience at all levels will be considered. • Ability to achieve and maintain an active security clearance. Must have, or be able to obtain and maintain, an active enhanced DV security clearance. 2. This clearance requires UK citizenship. Must be authorized to work in the UK.
