The Facilities Maintenance Manager oversees maintenance for the building, grounds, and infrastructure, including metal fabrication, welding, paint, assembly, and offices. Managing the maintenance department, they schedule and coordinate staff workload, external vendor activities, and ensure compliance with OSHA and Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate maintenance staff, optimizing resources for reliable operations.
- Manage maintenance budget, contracts, and prepares cost estimates for facility projects.
- Improve and manage Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.
- Ensure facilities maintenance adheres to safety standards and budget guidelines.
- Coordinate with outside vendors for routine pick-ups (e.g., trash, hazardous waste).
- Ensure compliance with EPA, county, state, OSHA, and EHS regulations, filing required paperwork.
- Ensure regulatory requirements for facilities and equipment safety devices are met.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Assist plant management in special projects and develop/maintain vendor relationships.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Formal Lean or Lean Six Sigma training from reputable institution is a plus
- Five years of general industrial maintenance (electro-mechanical) and supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of general plant engineering and maintenance required
- Functional knowledge of manufacturing processes including assembly, metal fabrication, weld, and paint
- Functional understanding of measurement equipment
- Environmental and Safety experience including understanding of OSHA regulations
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Able to drive compliance and change while maintaining good working relationships.
