Facilities & Maintenance Manager jobs in New Brunswick, NJ

The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintenance of the Physical Plant systems of the theater’s building and equipment to ensure it is functional and meets all safety requirements, including MEP, seating, lighting in the front of house, displays, and HVAC. The Facilities Manager will be actively involved in the planning and scheduling of vendors and services, as well as performing maintenance as required.

Reports To: Vice President of Theatre Operations
Classification: Exempt, Full Time
Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 (Dependent Upon Experience)

Specific Duties:

• Serve as liaison with Physical Plant, Custodial Services, and other units in the operation, maintenance, and upgrades of the State Theatre New Jersey facilities. Prepare and implement facilities’ systems and equipment repairs and service.
• Work to ensure that the facilities meet all safety regulations (OSHA, State, Local, etc.) and that all facilities are used and maintained in a safe manner.
• Coordinate work on facilities systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction, painting, etc.) by outside vendors/contractors.
• In collaboration with the Vice President of Operations, make recommendations and specifications of equipment needs and upgrades. Serve as Project Manager for installation and upgrade of systems in the facilities.
• Generate estimates and submit contracts for services with the approval of the VP of Theatre Operations.
• Supervise full and part-time facilities personnel.
• Purchase, stock and distribute regularly used operating supplies.
• Possible night and weekend work may be required.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent pertinent certificates and work experience.
• 5 years of facilities management experience.
• Strong Project Management experience.
• Experience with budget development and oversight.
• Team leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• BA in Facility Management or Engineering
• Experience with Performing Arts Centers
• Technical Engineering experience
