FACILITIES MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR jobs in New Brunswick, NJ

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections of forklifts to identify issues and recommend repairs.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on a wide range of forklift models, including but not limited to engine, transmission, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical problems accurately.
• Replace and repair damaged or worn parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure that forklifts meet all safety regulations and standards.
• Assist in the procurement of spare parts and maintain an organized inventory.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
• Stay up to date with industry advancements and best practices in forklift maintenance.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Repair and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, fixtures, and outlets.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, such as leaks, faucets, and pipes.
• Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repairs when necessary.
• Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies promptly.
Manage facilities’ vendor contracts.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in forklift repair preferred.
• Proven experience as a forklift mechanic or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of forklift systems, engines, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to safety protocols.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance systems.
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools effectively.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Shift: 6:30am-3:00pm Monday-Friday
