Hopemont Hospital is a state operated, long-term care facility located in Terra Alta, WV.
General Description
Oversee and assure the maintenance of the entire facility and grounds. Supervise a full maintenance crew and general maintenance of the buildings and grounds; to include outside contractors and/or repair staff. Supervise and initiate all repairs, purchasing of and regular upkeep and maintenance of facility, maintain materials, equipment and inventory of all equipment and parts to assure maintenance needs are met throughout the facility and grounds. Directs day-to-day preventive maintenance programs for heating, cooling and water systems, building and grounds, vehicles, plumbing, electrical systems and care track system (resident tracking system). Tracks and maintains compliance of all equipment and building requirements pursuant to CMS regulations and fire code.
Maintain and oversee life safety programs within the facility to include all in-services, inspections, and repairs throughout all departments in the facility in relation to safety, fire and disaster to assure facility compliance with CMS regulations and fire safety codes. Conduct staff in-services; fire and disaster drills and codes. Conducts new hire orientation on such fire and safety in-services and codes. Maintain and perform compliance with fire and safety drills as required. Fleet coordinator for the facility. Ensure compliance with fire, electrical, OSHA, and other applicable laws, rules and regulations. Needs to possess a working knowledge of low pressure steam systems. Preference given to candidates with HVAC/Plumbing background. Demonstrated computer skills are required. Performs related duties as required.
Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants must successfully pass a background check. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.
Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in general maintenance or construction work on buildings, grounds, or electrical and mechanical equipment, at least one year of which has been in a leadwork or supervisory capacity.
Substitution: Two (2) years experience as a Building Maintenance Technician may substitute for the required experience.
Special Requirement: May require specific licensure/certifications based on assignment.
