Facilities Manager manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Manager monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Manager trains supervisors and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, plans and manages the daily operations of all areas of Engineering & Maintenance. Ensures compliance with all hospital goals and objectives, as well as regulations impacting institutional facilities management in an acute healthcare facility.
Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree in engineering or business with four years management experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

ten years experience in a healthcare facilities environment which included four years management experience.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
Requires strong working knowledge of facility utility systems, applicable codes, regulations and analytical and organizational skills.
Requires in-depth analytical and organizational skills in order to manage and coordinate facility service needs, effectively develop staff, support the development and monitoring of budget, short and long range planning and resolve technical and human resource problems to ensure optimal departmental services
Demonstrates knowledge of management theory and practice to effectively lead associates and promote team work and group achievement.
Demonstrates skills to work and meet deadlines effectively and efficiently manage workloads and staffing.
Demonstrates strong use of the English language both verbal and written.
Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external customers, as needed
