Facilities Planner plans building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Conducts evaluations of current facilities to assess short-term and long-term space needs and produce feasibility studies. Being a Facilities Planner prepares and reviews designs, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. Estimates costs for labor, materials, and services. Additionally, Facilities Planner generates, monitors, and updates project plans and timelines with task details, deliverables, and status updates. Coordinates construction and installation processes and expedites delivery of materials required by projects. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to implement the Town’s comprehensive plan and land development regulations; develop and review zoning text amendments and plan amendments; and evaluate permits and land development applications for compliance with the comprehensive plan, Town codes and ordinances.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning or closely related field; supplemented by previous experience, master’s course work and/or training involving site plan review, urban planning, local/state land use, zoning, and personal computer operations.
A valid Florida driver’s license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days from date of employment
