Facilities Planner plans building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Conducts evaluations of current facilities to assess short-term and long-term space needs and produce feasibility studies. Being a Facilities Planner prepares and reviews designs, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. Estimates costs for labor, materials, and services. Additionally, Facilities Planner generates, monitors, and updates project plans and timelines with task details, deliverables, and status updates. Coordinates construction and installation processes and expedites delivery of materials required by projects. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Reporting to the Manager, Production Control & Planning, the Maintenance Package Planner ensures that all aircraft maintenance packages are complete so as to enable the Production Control Supervisor to lay-out the job boards efficiently and allow for effective and timely maintenance execution and aircraft re-delivery.
This job requires extensive research of OEM maintenance documentation mostly held online and in work packages. Ensure that all the necessary Task Cards are included in order to undertake the job in accordance with the Workscope.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED or OJT. Preferably has a degree in Aviation Management and/or has Held a mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant for commercial aircraft.
EXPERIENCE: Has had recent production planning experience for at least 3 years. Has had diversified maintenance experience on large aircraft with an Air Carrier, Commercial Operator or Certified Repair Station.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Extensive familiarity with MPDs, technical procedural and schematic OEM maintenance documentation.
Proficient Computer user with working knowledge of online research and usage of OEM portals.
Good written and oral communication skills in order to effectively interact with all levels of staff from different departments effectively.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a good understanding of where to find relevant information.
