Facilities Planner plans building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Conducts evaluations of current facilities to assess short-term and long-term space needs and produce feasibility studies. Being a Facilities Planner prepares and reviews designs, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. Estimates costs for labor, materials, and services. Additionally, Facilities Planner generates, monitors, and updates project plans and timelines with task details, deliverables, and status updates. Coordinates construction and installation processes and expedites delivery of materials required by projects. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The City of Weatherford’s Development and Neighborhood Services Department is looking to hire a Planner. This position Performs a variety of entry-level to mid-level professional and technical level planning work on difficult, complex and/or sensitive planning projects and programs involving the administration, research analysis, data assembly, prepares and develops technical reports, special studies, draft regulations, grants and related documents and field work in support of the Department program for The City of Weatherford. This position will be involved in all facets of city planning, including land use, zoning, transportation, neighborhood, historical and public facility planning, maps, and presentation graphics for long range and current planning projects. Roles & Responsibilities Include:
• A bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, or related field. • Experience in community or urban planning is a plus; or any combination of experience, education or training that may produce the desired qualifications. • Must have valid Texas Driver’s License and driving record must meet or surpass guidelines as set forth by the City of Weatherford.
