Facilities Planner plans building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Conducts evaluations of current facilities to assess short-term and long-term space needs and produce feasibility studies. Being a Facilities Planner prepares and reviews designs, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. Estimates costs for labor, materials, and services. Additionally, Facilities Planner generates, monitors, and updates project plans and timelines with task details, deliverables, and status updates. Coordinates construction and installation processes and expedites delivery of materials required by projects. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor plans and supervises the daily maintenance work for all Agency sites, both scheduled and emergency maintenance. Will coordinate and expedite facilities maintenance, repair and minor-construction projects according to pre-determined schedules and handle emergent needs from Agency programs.

    This position is full-time with full benefits and starts out between $62,400 - $64,480 annually. Position will be located in Lompoc with Countywide travel required.

    Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises employees in Facilities Maintenance operations and coordinates the activities of independent contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.

    • Supervise Facilities Maintenance staff members in the ongoing performance of their duties, including maintenance and preventive maintenance.
    • Oversee facilities maintenance, repair, minor construction, and renovation projects in Agency facilities.
    • Assists in completing projects as necessary and/or required.
    • Complete operations by reviewing work orders, developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, and resolving operations issues.
    • Revise schedules when required due to delays, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management and program representatives as necessary.
    • Arrange and coordinate the work of outside contractors as necessary.
    • Review documents such as work schedules, work orders, and material specifications.
    • Confer with program managers, other staff, and vendors/contractors to assess progress and discuss needed changes or other developments.
    • Make fiscally sound decisions and follow Fiscal procedures in the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance function.
    • Document and report on project progress.
    • Utilize work order software to compile information, such as project/work order progress, materials and supplies, and other information, to complete status reports.
    • Develop and maintain a records management system for filing, protection, and retrieval of records within the program.
    • Maintain shop inventory of equipment and supplies and shop organization.

    Requires: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and three years related experience such as but not limited to experience in facilities maintenance, construction or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Strong computer skills. Valid CA Driver's license.
