FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and facilities systems. Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. Grow Haven is a cannabis cultivator in Paw Paw, MI. We grow in greenhouses and outdoors to provide high quality cannabis to the Michigan Medical and Adult Use markets.
Duties:
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and schedules for all equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems, without interrupting production
- Maintain building common areas.
- Maintain inventory of common area factory materials – spare parts for equipment, gloves, paper towel, etc.
- Manage the exterior of buildings and grounds.
- Coordinate with senior management to supervise project contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of capital improvements, repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify any maintenance or repair needs and address them promptly.
- Develop work plans cost estimates for facilities maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, warranties, and service contracts.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in facilities management to continuously improve processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, schedule preventive maintenance tasks, and manage inventory.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues and make repairs.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be a self-starter who can work independently as well as in a team environment, and be held accountable for completion of assigned tasks.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office software are required.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Physical endurance and fitness sufficient to complete the scope of work.
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Possess a current and valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Trained to operate a forklift.
- Knowledge of low voltage systems is a plus.
- Ability to fabricate or repair equipment as needed is a plus.
