FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and facilities systems. Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Summary:
    To assist the shop supervisor with the planning, coordination and supervision of refrigeration shop operations and staff. To install and repair refrigerating systems and enforce safety standards.
    Education & Experience
    High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of related experience.

    Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Valid Driver's License. Refrigerant Universal Certified.
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    Knowledge of refrigeration, heating, and cooling systems. Skill in the use of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or digital testing equipment. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to observe and test system operation. Ability to manage time and resources. Ability to withstand exposure to heat, cold, and noise. Ability to work with/around potential hazardous equipment and conditions.

    Responsibilities
    • Confers with supervisor, reviews work orders, and prioritizes work assignments to meet fluctuating demand.
    • Provides ongoing support, training, advice, and evaluation to refrigeration shop employees (refrigeration mechanics, air filtration maintenance technicians, machinists, etc.).
    • Maintains records and reports; calculates the amount of tools, equipment, and supplies needed to complete the project.
    • Inspects work of employees to ensure quality standards are maintained.
    • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
    • Observes and tests system operation; tests lines and components for leaks; dismantles malfunctioning systems and test components, using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment; adjusts or replaces work or defective mechanisms and parts.
