FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and facilities systems. Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Construction Project Field Supervisor is responsible for Coordinating and oversee all new construction and renovation projects in the district from start to finish and ensure compliance with all planning and zoning requirements.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree required
Professional License preferred (e.g. Registered Architect, Registered Accessibility Specialist, or License Engineer)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of project planning and construction principles
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical design and installation
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Knowledge of building codes, zoning ordinances, and the inspection certification process
Ability to read blueprints and schematics
Ability to conduct on-site inspections of all district facilities
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Three years experience in supervising construction, building remodeling, and evaluation of formal bids for construction and/or remodeling projects.
