Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Assistant to join our team at Temple Beth Abraham (TBA). As a Facilities Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities. This is an on-site role based out of TBA’s two Nashua buildings and comes with a highly flexible schedule with generous compensation. The typical schedule will be 10 to 20 hours per week with some night and weekend hours required.

This is a part-time hourly position. There is no set schedule of working hours, except when requested and needed by the community in support of the job responsibilities. The person or persons who take this role must be self-starting and organized and able to manage their own schedule and priorities with minimal daily input and oversight.

This position reports to the Office Manager and will be working closely with the all-volunteer community leadership, such as the House committee, as well as the small, but highly dedicated TBA full-time staff.

Duties:

• Perform general maintenance tasks such as repairing and maintaining equipment (changing light bulbs, batteries, filters.), making minor repairs (wall patching/painting, general light handyperson work),
• Light landscaping
• Event setup/takedown tables & chairs, additional cleaning/vacuuming
• Straightening up of our Sanctuary (arrange books, etc.)
• Works with subcontractors for projects and/or outsourced needs
• Assists with building supplies inventory

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship
• Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and use equipment such as a dolly, cart, etc.
• Must be able to safely operate small power equipment
• Night and weekend availability is required with advanced notice
