FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and facilities systems. Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. GENERAL FUNCTION: Directs the activities of a group or team of shop employees involved in a specific production, repair, or material handling process in order to meet Company quality and safety standards within production schedules, in the most cost effective manner. Supervises general hourly employees, welders, painters, plant clerks, etc. Works under the general direction of a plant superintendent, plant manager or other plant management position.

Determines work procedures, equipment and supplies needed, and manpower requirements to complete assignments per production drawing.
Selects, supervises, assigns instructs and schedules shop employees.
Monitors work processes and products to ensure quality, safety and cost containment standards are maintained.
Coordinates with other phases of operation to meet schedules and obtain necessary materials and equipment.
Ensures Company equipment is properly handled, maintained and secured.
Consults with engineers and quality assurance inspectors regarding the integrity of products.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of plant operations with particular emphasis on techniques and equipment for area involved. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or work objectives. Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material, and manpower needs. Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group and to perform as a member of a management team. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Completion of a standard high school education supplemented by course work in drafting, industrial technology or related areas, and extensive experience in plant operations and supervision; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
