Building Automation Specialist & Facilities Supervisor
Nature of Work:
This position is responsible for optimizing performance of assigned buildings and mechanical and electrical systems as part of an integrated facilities team and will have a key role in developing and documenting City of Rochester (CoR) building control standards. Responsibilities include coordinating integrated operations of assigned buildings, creating and operationalizing proactive safety and maintenance procedures, providing positive leadership for assigned teammates, and driving innovative alignment with the City’s Vision and Strategic Priorities.
Starting salary is $79,171 to $93,142 with advancement to $116,429.

*Essential Functions
Education and Experience
An Associate's degree, from an accredited program and five (5) years related experience in the operation of building automation systems and energy management systems with at least three (3) years in a supervisory/lead capacity.
Licenses and/or Certifications
Valid driver's license
A current MN Special Class Engineer License, or equivalent. If an equivalent license is held at the time of hire, candidate must obtain the MN Special Class Engineer Boiler license within three months of appointment to position.
Desirable Qualifications
Technical Training: Coursework in building automation, building mechanical and electrical systems, technical writing, boiler operators, pollution controls and monitoring.
