FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and facilities systems. Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     The Facilities Technician maintains all SPFC facilities and performs general and preventive maintenance and repairs in the skilled and semi-skilled trades, i.e., plumbing, carpentry, flooring, irrigation, electrical, mechanical and air conditioning systems and equipment.


    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • None

    Position Responsibilities

    • Perform and oversee general and preventative maintenance at all SPFC facilities. Ensure repairs are performed in a professional manner that meets industry standards and code requirements.
    • Establish and facilitate preventive maintenance schedules and activities. Maintain logs and records of all repairs and improvements.
    • Serve as on-site contact for facilities renovations, repairs, and improvements by outside vendors/contractors. Coordinate building and system repairs at all facilities in partnership with site/Program Directors.
    • Perform maintenance and repairs as requested by programs. This includes but is not limited to:

    o Electrical and lighting

    o Interior and exterior doors

    o Painting, drywall and carpentry

    o HVAC

    o Landscaping and Irrigation

    o Bathrooms, Plumbing, drains, and sewer lines

    • Communicate proactively on all facilities maintenance and projects to ensure that stakeholders are fully informed of their role in supporting the work, or how it might impact their operations, and provide alternative solutions that will minimize disruptions.
    • Responds to emergency situations in order to confine, resolve or prevent injurious or hazardous conditions, i.e., fallen debris, spills, broken windows, broken locks.
    • Assist with cleaning of program facilities and trash removal as needed.
    • All other duties as may be assigned.

    Requirements

    Education & Experience

    • High school degree or equivalent.
    • 1-3 years of experience in general trades facility maintenance work.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to climb ladders.
    • Ability to lift overhead.
    • Valid Drivers License and ability to drive to multiple locations.
    • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
