Position Summary:
Center For Family Services is seeking motivated and compassionate individuals for the Residential Counselor positions within its Oasis/Tranquility Program. The positions available are in a growing program that provides transitional living assistance for both youth and young adults ages 11-20. Through this program, young adults have the opportunity to participate in community activities and to work together to support each other. This program encourages youth to care about themselves and others. It also helps young women develop an independent living plan and set goals for a positive future. The Residential Counselor is a key member of the program's team and provides direct counseling services and support to the youth and young adults in the program. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Residential Counselor has patience, dedication, understanding, and a passion for engaging and providing supervision and structure for young women in the program. This trauma informed individual engages in caring supervision and structure for the young women in the residence. They are consistent with stated goals and objectives and must be able to commit to weekend and as needed relief shifts. The Residential Counselor teaches budgeting and money management skills and also provides life and social skills training. The Residential Counselor oversees goal setting groups, provides one-to-one assistance, and ensures that the youth complete their goals as set forth in their treatment plan. This individual completes documentation and other reporting requirements in a timely manner, contributes on Agency committees, meets regularly with supervisor, and participates in other continuing professional development opportunities.
