Position Summary:Person in this position will be responsible for the planning and coordination of the clinical activities pertaining to mental health services for veterans and their families. Interview veterans when referred by clinical staff for therapy, conduct assessment and individual, conjoint, couple, and multiple family group counseling as indicated. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.Essential Job Functions:
- Plan and coordinate the clinical activities pertaining to mental health services to veterans and their families.
- Supervise the screening and assignment of cases referred for mental health services.
- Assist staff at arriving at solutions to client problems as they relate to mental health issues.
- Participate in staff meetings and conferences pertaining to client treatment plans and progress in treatment.
- Participate in discharge planning with clinical staff at the conclusion of therapy.
- Attend and participate in the diagnostic and technical meetings for cooperative planning and treatment by clinical staff.
- Participate in staff training as it relates to therapy.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the quality improvement process as it relates to therapy.
- Participation in Quality Improvement activities in an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for maintaining the client charts in compliance with agency, state and any other rules and standards; and
- Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:- Possession of a current, valid license as a Clinical Social Worker or a Marriage Family therapist issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (CBBS), or
- Registered Intern with BBS and three years of experience as a manager/supervisor of clinical staff.
- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an Annual Tuberculosis test.
Certifications/Licenses:- As mandated by Presidential Order all employees of WestCare Foundation, Inc. and all affiliates of WestCare Foundation, Inc. will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 effective 12/08/2021. Employees that have requested a Medical or Religious
- Exemption, which has been approved by Human Resources will be required to test for the virus weekly.
- During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
Education:- Graduation with a masters degree in a health-related field; or
- The equivalent of education and experience combined consisting of a bachelors degree and a minimum of two years supervised work experience in therapy.
Experience and Competencies:Working Conditions:- Work is primarily performed in an office or residential treatment setting; and
- Some outdoor activities may be required.
