SUMMARY 

Family Service League is seeking a part-time salaried Bilingual Counselor for the Family Place Library. The Family Place Library provides library patrons with social and emotional needs, case management, short term counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to mental health clinics and other community based programs. 3.5 weekdays required.

RESPONSIBILITES 

• The Bilingual Counselor will conduct intakes and assessments of individuals and families.
• Provide individual and family counseling.
• Co-facilitate library groups as needed.
• Assist in linking eligible clients with public benefits and assist clients with applying.
• The Bilingual Counselor will provide linkage to more intensive mental health services.
• Provide referrals to higher levels of care.
• The Bilingual Counselor will provide crisis intervention, when needed.
• Document client contacts accurately and timely.
• All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy required.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience required.

Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and referral processing required.

Must be able to perform suicide risk assessments and provide short term counseling.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.

Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills required.

Bilingual in Spanish required.
