Advises about types of counseling services available and makes referrals to service providers. Additionally, Family Support Counselor may require a bachelor's degree in human services related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Family Support Counselor work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Join our team of dedicated professionals in our Family Support Services Program.  IHT Clinicians provide community-based direct care services to children, adults, and families.  The main focus of these services is to alleviate the youth's mental health issues and strengthen the family structures and supports.  Family support services are distinguished from traditional therapy in that services are delivered in the home or community and the frequency and duration matches the need and is not time-limited.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct Comprehensive Assessments, develop Treatment Plans and goals in collaboration with families, children and other supports and providers.
    • Assist caregivers in stabilizing the behavior of children and adolescents, including the development of Risk Management Plans and facilitating the involvement of Crisis Services when required.
    • Be available to work flexible schedule which will includes some evening work, as required by client needs.
    • Work collaboratively with the Family Support paraprofessional.  Be a collaborative provider to the family and the family's wrap-around team supports and providers.
    • Maintain complete, accurate and timely records.

    Qualifications

    Master's Degree in a mental health field, experience working with children and families, computer proficiency to use electronic health record and other information systems, valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

    Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, (English/Spanish speaking.)
