Family Time Support Specialist

    The Children's Center Utah is looking for a Family Time Support Specialist (FTSS) to work with families engaged in the child welfare system to increase access to quality family time for children and their caregivers by providing observation and supervision of parent-child interactions as a neutral third party. The FTSS will work with the Infant Toddler Court Program (ITCP), a specialty court program that aims to meet the unique needs of infants, toddlers, and their families engaged in the child welfare system. This is a part-time position with variable hours, likely including evenings and weekends, approximately 10-20 hours/week. This position will work in Utah County.
    Responsibilities
    • Supervise family time and report on challenges and successes that families experience to the partners in the ITCP, including the FTSS supervisor, the Community Coordinator, the child welfare caseworker, and legal professionals involved in the case
    • Support the goal of the ITCP to promote access to frequent, quality, family time
    • Support attachment needs of the child with their caregivers
    Preferred Experience
    • Education in Infant Early Childhood Mental Health and/or child development
    • Experience working with young children and their families
    • Familiar with Trauma Informed Practices
    • Encourages and practices critical thinking
    • Self-reflective and empathic
    • Maintains a respectful and accepting approach to others
    • Flexible schedule, likely including evenings and weekends
    • Reliable transportation to get to community partner's offices in Utah County
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (pay premium)

    Salary

    Schedule
    Hours will be variable to meet the needs of families. Work hours will likely include evenings and weekends. Work hours may vary between 10-20 hours/week
