Interviews families to assess needs and their eligibility for assistance programs and services. Being a Family Support Counselor helps to navigate the application process and outlines the requirements and benefits of programs or services. Advises about types of counseling services available and makes referrals to service providers. Additionally, Family Support Counselor may require a bachelor's degree in human services related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Family Support Counselor work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. About your role:
The Family Centered Treatment QP is responsible for helping families who are at-risk learn and adopt positive behavioral patterns through counseling, skills training, trauma treatment, interventions, community resource coordination and wraparound services. Utilizes the FCT Model to create evidence-based family preservation that will improve youth and family functioning by providing an alternative to out-of-home placements.
Do the following apply to you:- Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in social work or other Human service field (Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, etc)
- 2-4 years of full-time post graduate degree MH/DD/SA experience with children/families
- Must be fully certified in FCT within twelve months of initial hire via the official FCT certification program, Wheels of Change©. Certification is granted through the Family Centered Treatment Foundation (FCT Foundation) when staff pass and show competence in required components.
