Truss/Slater, a division of LS Building Products is a private, locally owned company, with production and distribution locations throughout the Greater Central Illinois Region.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Read residential & commercial building plans to design wooden roof and floor truss systems. Communicate with outside sales and production staff to ensure the designs are accurate and to the customer’s specifications.
JOB DUTIES:
· Read and interpret architectural and structure drawings
· Design structural components
· Produce individual truss design drawings and truss placement plans
· Provide quotes for roof and floor truss systems to homeowners, contractors and retail lumber yards
· Communicate with architects/engineers to resolve any discrepancies as needed
· Communicate with construction teams to ensure accurate installation of trusses and resolve any issues that may arise
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Basic computer knowledge
· Strong math skills
· Excellent problem solving and attention to detail
· Drafting experience (preferred)
· Past construction experience (preferred)
· Proficiency in Alpine software (strongly preferred)
JOB TYPE: Full-time
COMPENSATION:
· $18-$24 an hour, depending on experience
