Field Engineer - Construction jobs in Gary, IN

***IMMEDIATE NEED FOR A CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER***

A growing, mid-sized engineering firm is seeking a construction engineer who will report to the Lead Construction Manager. Daily work activities will include coordination between Inspector Resident Project Representatives (RPRs), Project Engineers, and Project Managers. This person will assist in training and overseeing inspection staff to ensure project time, cost management, documentation, communication, risk management, and quality assurance. This person will also be responsible for acting as a RPR on projects - filling in on projects when needed. This is a great opportunity to split time in the office and field, as well as develop a construction division. All qualified candidates will be up for immediate consideration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*2 years of professional experience within construction management (can come from a general contractor or civil engineering)

*Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent to the construction/engineering fields

*Willingness to travel across the state of Indiana for site visits and fill in for RPR's when needed

*Professional experience utilizing ProCore

*Desire to seek professional development

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide guidance and oversight to construction inspectors and assist with job site inspection as-needed.

- Fill in for inspectors (RPRs) on the job sites - covering when RPRs are not available

- Assist with facilitating and conducting regularly scheduled construction meetings.

- Coordinate with contractors to schedule inspection activities and help resolve design and field issues.

- Assist with project management for technical and cost efforts to meet deadlines and budgets.

- Oversee validation of products and materials ordered for projects to verify their conformance to specifications.

- Ensure federal, state and local regulations for construction procedures and safe working conditions.

TRAVEL

- Candidates must be willing to travel to job sites across the State of Indiana and Kentucky. This includes overnight travel at times - like the RPR this person will be required to travel.

- Travel would be Indiana and some parts of Kentucky possibly

- Person will use own vehicle and mileage will be reimbursed at federal reimbursement rate.

- Need to have reliable transportation
