Field Engineer - Construction delivers on-site technical oversight support to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineer - Construction follows quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consult with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineer - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Attends project meetings to provide technical input and present recommendations to improve construction processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Field Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     A Field Engineer position is available in Odessa, TX. In this position, you will act as the glue that unites the team by translating the information between the office engineers and the team that is making the project come to life out on the field. Field Engineers know what is happening out on the field and have the ability to fill the gaps and support the team to ensure success and efficiency.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

    You will be on the field day-to-day, ensuring that the work being done by our team and subcontractors meet engineering specifications. Other duties may include handling important documents and ensuring that the correct materials are being received and stored correctly.

    Examples of daily tasks:

    • Surveying and lay-out job site.
    • Processing and reviewing shop drawings.
    • Updating as-built documents.
    • Auditing completed construction.
    • Complete daily and periodic report updates.
    • Coordinating subcontractor work.
    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    The ideal candidate will have a degree in civil engineering, construction management, or another related field and is willing to travel and work the days and hours required to ensure the project's success. This position is perfect for someone seeking entry-level project management experience with an industry leader.
