Field Engineer - Construction delivers on-site technical oversight support to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineer - Construction follows quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consult with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineer - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Attends project meetings to provide technical input and present recommendations to improve construction processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Field Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     ABOUT THE JOB

    Tepa Companies is currently seeking a Staff Project Engineer (construction) to assist the project manager with all aspects of the project(s) execution to include client relationships, schedules, and project deliverables. As a Staff Project Engineer you will collaborate with the Program Manager, Project Managers, and other Project Staff to execute tasks and team collaboration activities. You will assist the Project Manager, address needs of production teams, subcontractors, and the client. As Tepa continues to grow, we are focusing on hiring recent graduates to begin their careers at our organization with opportunities to receive hands-on learning, mentorship, and growth within the company. This is an entry level position that does not require previous experience but does require education in the particular discipline.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Assist Project Managers in each phase of the project including initiation, project coordination, meeting planning and documentation, project report deliverables, administrative tasks (e.g., project status reporting), and project close out.
    • Assists Project Managers to plan, schedule, and manage project timelines to see all deadlines are met.
    • Contributes to all team efforts by taking ownership of assigned tasks and duties and is fully transparent and accountable for the successful performance of assigned tasks.
    • Performs all duties with the highest possible degree of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
    • Reviews project documentation for accuracy and completeness
    • Develops and outline work processes and procedures.
    • Assists Project Managers with ensuring quality control and assurance.
    • Tracks Requests for Information (RFIs)
    • Maintain open communication with field staff regarding all issues and create resolutions.
    • Travels to client and project sites as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Assist with bid and project estimating.
    • Assist with bid coordination.

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    • Bachelor's degree in construction management or similar related field required (or graduating in 2024)
    • 0-1 year of relevant work experience.
    • One (1) internship completed in relevant field.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet multiple schedule deadlines.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel.
    • Strong attention to detail.
