Field Engineer - Construction delivers on-site technical oversight support to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineer - Construction follows quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consult with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineer - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Attends project meetings to provide technical input and present recommendations to improve construction processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Field Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Field Construction Supervisor is responsible for the performance and safety of all crew members on their projects. By educating and leading by example all team members on safety procedures, managing the quality of all work performed, and by making recommendations for improvements, you will ensure that projects stay within budget and work is delivered on time.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    Ensures adherence to and demonstrates a sound understanding of safety best practices and regulations
    Monitors all work performed and provides crews training where needed
    Performs equipment, material, and routine site inspections
    Ensures teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines
    Provides leadership and guidance to develop their team members skills and abilities
    Manages subcontractors and vendors
    Reconciles work production tasks as they relate to invoicing
    Recruits and trains new crew members
    Ensures dig tickets are called in and follows up with local jurisdictions
    Positively motivates crew, especially when fighting the elements or behind on projects
    Walks out jobs and properly white lines areas for new work
    Conducts quality assurance inspections during and after completion of work to ensure compliance to customer specific requirements
    Communicates effectively with homeowners associations and hangs door tags to inform residents of an upcoming project, etc.
    Other duties as assigned

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Strong work ethic, leads by example, and does what it takes to get the job done
    Computer experience in Microsoft Office Suite and with various other construction and financial software programs
    Excellent at relationship building
    Ability to communication with clarity at the frequencies required by management and customers
    Ability to travel to multiple sites as required
    Work independently with minimal supervision
    Read and understand construction maps, drawings, and diagrams

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    One plus years as a construction supervisor in a capacity similar to current requirements
    Construction background (aerial, underground, etc.)
    Basic knowledge of splicing
    Valid drivers license and excellent driving record
    Must be able to pass a DOT physical
    Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
    Understands flag and tag procedures
    High School Diploma or GED

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
    Permitting Experience
    Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
    Undergraduate degree
    CDL License
