Field Engineering Manager - Construction jobs in Passaic, NJ

MJ is seeking a full-time Construction Manager. A minimum of 5-7 years of construction experience is required. This position provides leadership and comprehensive Construction Management / Engineering support for on-site construction projects at the Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton, New Jersey.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide QA/construction support to field representatives. The following are anticipated job responsibilities and will include but are not limited to:

• Oversight of the inspectors and coordination and accountability of all projects, administrative and in-field responsibilities.

• Notifies government of discrepancies found during inspections and ensures compliance.

• Interpret plans and specifications for the government and discuss deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.

• Prepare and track construction schedules and requests updates as schedule changes.
  Implement change orders to project when required.

• Review design drawings for constructability.

• Review / prepares inspection reports, indicating discrepancies and evidence of noncompliance and determining states of construction progress.

• Provide feedback and updates of pertinent day to day site conditions, deficiencies, and site discussions with field representatives.

• Implement change orders to project when required.

• Coordinate and perform daily field site visits to verify that work is proceeding with contract documents and approved submittals.

• Provides and reviews submittals, RFI logs, maintenance logs, and other project related materials in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction from an ABET- accredited college or relevant number of years’ experience.

• Minimum 5-7 years construction experience.

• Have excellent technical writing and communication skills.

• A valid Real ID Driver’s License is required. Travel may be required.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain security clearance.

Salary Range: 80,000 – 110,000
