Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises on-site technical oversight activities to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineering Manager - Construction enforces quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consults with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineering Manager - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Procures and coordinates any additional resources required to support field engineering activities. Attends project meetings to provide technical input and recommend improving construction processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Field Engineering Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Engineering Manager - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Manager, Engineering - Corporate Field Operations

  • Responsible for providing direction and support to designated staff within outside plant maintenance. Maintain product integrity and oversee engineering initiatives. Coordinate and collaborate with Construction, Dispatch, Warehouse, Technical Operations and Care operations to ensure optimal customer experience. Responsible for purchasing, budgeting, deployment of new products, assisting with capital projects and the hiring, training, development, and performance management of staff. This position requires 50% travel.


    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

    Provide overall direction for all areas of engineering support for system locations regarding new and existing technologies and current operating standards.

    Consult with managers regarding technical operations and strategic planning of rebuilds, network operations and dispatch, new product development and deployment.

    Evaluate and consult with managers regarding construction projects, capital budget items and equipment requirements.

    Provide quality assurance support and direction to engineering staff regarding new or existing technologies, company technical quality assurance (TQA) standards.

    Maintains good relations with local utilities, vendors, contractors and government agencies.

    Monitor and provide guidance in the capital budget process to ensure projects are cost effective, completed on time, and on budget.

    Monitor current procedures and tests performed in accordance with FCC standards to ensure compliance.

    Develop an effective front line Leadership team and assist them with developing their direct reports as to drive a high performance culture and environment.

    Establish positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support.

    Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.

    Know, understand and follow company policy.

    Perform other duties as requested by manager.


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
    Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
    Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
    Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
    Ability to provide coaching and counseling when necessary
    Ability to supervise and motivate others
    Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
    Knowledge of company products and services
    Knowledge of Electronic theory, Federal Communications Commission regulations and Fiber Optic theory
    Demonstrated leadership qualities with proven ability to provide effective, results oriented direction
    Ability to maintain confidentiality
    Knowledge of Microsoft Office
    Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within Company required standards


    Required Education
    Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
    Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E)


    Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
    1 year Project Management work experience preferred
    2 years of related supervisory experience preferred
    5 years of Engineering experience preferred
    HFC and Networking experience preferred.
