Kadant Johnson is seeking a results-driven, customer focused, and hands-on colleague to join our team as a Field Services Manager to support the corrugated packaging industry. The position is based out of Three Rivers, Michigan.
The Field Services Manager is responsible for leading all field service activities, mechanical and technical, performed at corrugated packaging plants. Additional responsibilities include managing third-party contractors and service technicians, assisting customers with troubleshooting, developing scope of work, and preparing and issuing quotes for service work. This role works closely with engineering, systems, service, project management, and commercial functions to ensure our solutions are implemented successfully. The Field Services Manager will also develop and implement, in conjunction with the teams listed above, best product guidelines, including the documentation of standard equipment configurations, be able to interpret drawings, and measure and make legible sketches of customer equipment.
The preferred candidate for this position will have a minimum of ten years working in the corrugated packaging industry at a box plant or for a contractor/supplier that supports the corrugated packaging industry, have millwright or pipefitter experience, and be willing and able to travel up to 50-75% of the time including short notice trips, weekends, and occasional holidays based on customer needs.
The successful candidate will have in-depth mechanical knowledge of corrugator equipment, be able to identify problems and opportunities, have the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and plan and provide sound technical solutions. The Field Services Manager must also be comfortable performing multi-faceted tasks in conjunction with day-today activities. The ideal candidate will seek out and sieze opportunities, go beyond the normal call-of-duty, find ways to surmount barriers, be resourceful and action-oriented, and show bias for action (can-do and do-it-now attitude).
