Field Service Coordinator supervises, coordinates, and monitors day-to-day operations of oil, gas, or mining machines and equipment on designated sites. Provides support and guidance to service personnel who set up and operate a variety of oil, gas, or mining machines and equipment. Being a Field Service Coordinator ensures operations comply with all regulatory policies and procedures. Schedules routine maintenance on equipment to ensure uptime and adequate performance. Additionally, Field Service Coordinator implements process improvements to enhance field services and meet field requirements on time and within the contracted budget. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Field Service Coordinator supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Field Service Coordinator typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Summary:

    The Field Placement Coordinator position provides professional level support to secure field experience placements and establish school partnerships for the Education Studies Department (EDS). The position also supports EDS by ensuring that field experience placements meet state and departmental requirements, while providing students the experience and skills needed to be successful in their chosen certification field. The Field Placement Coordinator will also support internships for the department and work closely with Admissions on education-focused recruitment efforts.

    Minimum Qualifications Required:

    Education required to ensure success in this position:
    • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum), Master’s Degree (preferred)

    Experience required to ensure success in this position:

    • One (1) year of experience in a public-school setting, teaching, and/or related environment.


    Special skills, knowledge, and abilities:
    • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft 365 and Qualtrics.
    • Knowledge and application of skills including planning, prioritizing, implementing, and evaluating.
    • Comprehensive and effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
    • Ability to solve problems independently.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
    • Ability to be an effective representative of Berea College to public schools.
    License, certification, or registration necessary:
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Required background checks

    Physical requirements:

    • Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds
    • Ability to travel by car and/or plane
    • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.

    Environmental conditions:

    • Professional office environment with interruptions and noise due to frequent visitors, students, staff and faculty
    • Occasional travel required for meetings, conferences, etc.

    Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment:

    • Standard office equipment: computer, fax, phone, etc.
    • Vehicle – college vans/cars

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.     • Build, distribute and collate data on placement needs and preferences each term.
    • Support EDS faculty to set up and manage EDS 355, EDS 395, and/or EDS 495.
    • Work with schools to secure field experience placements and establish school-based partnerships for field and clinical practicum students. This involves updating existing MOAs and at times, drafting new MOAs.
    • Provide field experience instruction to students on entering hours in KFETS and on class expectations.
    • Prepare correspondence for EDS students, administrators and mentor teachers regarding field placement expectations, schedules, and evaluation criteria.
    • Support EDS faculty in the supervision of field experiences.
    • Visit schools to identify possible mentors and establish open lines of communication with building administrators.
    • Maintain accurate records for all field experience placements; disseminate and track required documentations, provide placement data to the Coordinator of Student and Faculty Services and Chair of the Education Studies Department.
    • Work with Accreditation and Assessment Support Specialist on creation, dissemination, and compilation of field experience placement data.
    • Support recent program completers in their new positions as teachers in the field.
    • Support education-related admissions initiatives as organized by Admissions and the Education Studies Department.
    • In support of Berea College’s great commitments this position requires student supervision.
