The Activities Coordinator for Family Service provides therapeutic and recreational activities for our geriatric population residing in our Enriched Housing facilities.
The coordinator develops and manages culturally sensitive activities to enhance the quality of life of our residents.
POSITION REPORTS TO : Administrator II
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assess residents’ interests and functional capabilities in planning programs.
Develop programs of interest to residents that will also stimulate their intellectual,
physical, and creative spirits ranging from art sessions, exercise programs and spiritual
programs.
Facilitate activity programs that are varied in collaboration with community groups as
available.
Responsible for obtaining needed supplies, maintaining activity area and activity
supplies and FSR van in good repair.
Develop and distribute a monthly calendar of activities.
Coordinate, supervise and provide transportation for community shopping and cultural
resident outings.
Maintain a balanced activity program budget.
Maintain necessary documentation regarding activity attendance and expenses.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS : Candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills. He / she must be able to interact in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner with residents, family members and staff.
Candidates must possess time management, problem solving and critical thinking skills. He / she must be willing to be an active team member, willing to assist with residents and team needs as required.
Driver’s license in good standing
EDUCATION : Associate degree in Recreation or related field.
EXPERIENCE : 2 years of experience in recreation
