Position Summary : The Development & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting all functions of the Office of Philanthropy & Communications for VNSHS in an effort to raise funds and awareness of the VNSHS mission, programs and services and increase patient referrals / intake admissions.
General Job Responsibilities : Donor database entry, list management, reporting, mail merges, acknowledgements and coordination of direct mailings and solicitations Maintain inventory of promotional and printed materials, secure competitive quotes, update budgets and process invoices Assist with the development and distribution of event materials including acknowledgments, invitations, brochures, etc.
Raffle / auction management including requests, collection, development of materials and packages, display and distribution of prizes Track event RSVPs Secure event gifts / prizes including goody bags and honoree awards Onsite event support Coordinate VNSHS fund raising events such as the 5K Run, Annual Golf Classic, anniversary events and other special events including the Annual Meeting, Juneteenth, holiday party, as well as representation and participation in local business and community relations activities Participate in the preparation of the agencys marketing plan and coordinate with the Director of Intake to achieve referral and admission goals Facilitate / cultivate relationships with referral sources Educate business and general community at large about VNSHS available services and resources and how to access them Identify potential sources of referrals and develops relationships with such referral sources.
Visit physicians to provide informational material and facilitate referrals to VNSHS Visit discharge planners in hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care facilities to provide informational material about VNSHS services (requires travel within Suffolk County and provides mileage reimbursement) Speak at service organizations and to community groups about VNSHS services (may require occasional evening / weekend engagements) Identify and report problems / concerns / recommendations of referral sources in relation to VNSHS services Keep referral sources informed and updated about new services and programs or changes in agency services and programs Maintain records of promotional activities Record and report all marketing activity including contacts / visits / requests made by referral sources and maintain updated marketing contact lists and records Maintain updated supply of printed marketing materials, promotional items Maintain expense record in accordance with established financial procedures and within approved budgetary limits Collect content, draft, develop and distribute social media posts Manage Constant Contact list, development, and distribution of e-communications Qualifications : At least three years of demonstrated development experience working in a not-for-profit organization performing related activitiesBachelors degree preferred, preferably in communications, business or marketingProficient in donor database management, Microsoft (Word, Power Point, Excel), Constant Contact, website, and social media skillsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Strong attention to detailExcellent organizational skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines Initiative-taker, flexible and motivatedAbility to work well independently and with othersDrivers license required
