Field Service Director manages field service personnel to provide effective on-site support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and oversees installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Being a Field Service Director oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives. Handles service contracts and directs support services. Additionally, Field Service Director develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Reviews service reports to monitor service performance and enhance customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Field Service Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. As our Field Tech in this remote role in the Birmingham, AL area, you will be the person our clients see face to face and look to for solutions onsite. Every day you will be traveling to clients’ sites to resolve issues or complete installs of several technologies you may not know right now.
To thrive in this role, you must have a drive to find the root cause of a problem that might be hidden by the interconnected issues and could require more work from you beyond the initial dispatch description. You have experience where you utilized persistent troubleshooting skills and exceptional customer service to build report with the client, dig into the problem and find the actual source of the problem, going beyond the basic solution. This should include an orderly and clean approach to problem solving knowing that the jobsite you leave behind becomes your reputation.
You also must have a clean driving record and background check as you will be working independently onsite and driving a company vehicle.
