Field Service Director manages field service personnel to provide effective on-site support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and oversees installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Being a Field Service Director oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives. Handles service contracts and directs support services. Additionally, Field Service Director develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Reviews service reports to monitor service performance and enhance customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Field Service Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Field Service Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Field Tech - Birmingham

  • As our Field Tech in this remote role in the Birmingham, AL area, you will be the person our clients see face to face and look to for solutions onsite. Every day you will be traveling to clients’ sites to resolve issues or complete installs of several technologies you may not know right now.

    To thrive in this role, you must have a drive to find the root cause of a problem that might be hidden by the interconnected issues and could require more work from you beyond the initial dispatch description. You have experience where you utilized persistent troubleshooting skills and exceptional customer service to build report with the client, dig into the problem and find the actual source of the problem, going beyond the basic solution. This should include an orderly and clean approach to problem solving knowing that the jobsite you leave behind becomes your reputation.

    You also must have a clean driving record and background check as you will be working independently onsite and driving a company vehicle.

    Here’s What You Can Expect

    • To shift gears quickly from different types of technology, how they are interconnected and how they are used differently in different restaurants.
    • Physical & Dirty Work – no sugar coating it – this role uses tools like a concrete saw, hammer drill, volt meter, toner, ohms meter in cutting concrete, pulling cable, and mounting heavy monitors inside and outside the restaurant.
      • You should be able to lift and move 50 pounds routinely, be comfortable working on a 12’ ladder, pulling cable in attic or rafters.
    • To be held accountable for your van inventory, schedule, and ticket completion in our CRM software (TigerPaw). Our field technicians roll in company cargo van with a great deal of inventory. Completing an accurate and timely inventory of your vehicle and parts on each ticket is vital to success on the next call.
    • A highly variable schedule – some days you might work from 8am to 4pm on service calls to several restaurants across the region and others you might work from 11pm to 4am installing new systems. The challenges at one site could dramatically change the schedule for the day as you diligently pursue answers to a persistent problem.
    • Travel! This role travels on a daily basis to customer locations and needs to arrive reliably at the place and time we committed to. Travel is typically within 4 hours of Atlanta but will frequently include overnight stays.
